Doctoral graduates from six to nine years ago needed!

Research Councils UK (RCUK) and the four UK Higher Education Funding Bodies have commissioned CFE and partners from the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU)and Sheffield University to carry out research into the value and impact of doctoral training. The study will look at the contribution of doctoral graduates across the economy, not just in academic fields, examining a range of career destinations and how researcher’s careers are developing. They wish to establish the benefit to UK economy and society from investments in doctoral research. Information on medium to longer term doctoral career pathways can also inform current or prospective researchers about the range of options open to them.

CFE want to hear from anyone who graduated with a doctorate between 2003 and 2006 as well as supervisors, research centres, alumni offices and networks with links to doctoral graduates. Please help by letting people who might be able to help know about this. For further information and to register interest in the study, go to www.cfe.org.uk/doctoralimpactstudy or contact Rachel Moreton: 0116 229 3300, rachel.moreton@cfe.org.uk
