Tyndall Centre PhD Conference 2013 Call for Papers

“Climate Transitions Connecting People, Planet and Place”, the Tyndall Centre’s Annual PhD Conference, which will be held 3rd-5th April 2013 at Cardiff University, is being organised by two ESRC Wales DTC students Sam Hubble and Erin Roberts, along with Catherine Cherry.

Doctoral researchers working in the field of climate change research are invited to participate in this conference that provides the opportunity for delegates to present their work and stimulate discussion, forge new research networks and gain insights from a variety of different perspectives from researchers working within the wider climate change arena.

Sessions will reflect and centre around the four themes of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research: Governance & Behaviour; Energy & Emissions; Cities & Coasts; and Water & Land. Each session will include 15 minute presentations (plus 5 minutes for questions) and 5 minute speed presentations (plus 5 minutes for questions). Additionally a poster session covering all four themes will take place enabling researchers to present their work in a more informal, laid-back setting.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1st February. Papers that discuss interdisciplinary approaches, innovative methodologies and policy application to environmental and social challenges in the context of climate change in a way which is easily understandable for non-specialists are explicitly encouraged.
