New Year, New Name

In 2017 will take in our first students as the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP). As many of you will know, this partnership has been accredited by the ESRC for six years and will build on the work of the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) over the last six years.

The new partnership, again led by Cardiff University, brings Cardiff Metropolitan University and the University of Gloucestershire into the consortium, providing pockets of excellence, alongside Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea Universities. We also have three new pathways, bringing the total to twenty.

Although our first intake of students as the DTP will not join us until October, we are already advertising studentships and so we have updated the website to reflect these changes. The DTP will will support both new and existing ESRC funded students and the majority of the opportunities that are available to current students who joined us as the DTC and those who will join us in the DTP will be available to both; where this is not the case it is clearly indicated on the relevant page.

You can now find our website at www.walesdtp.ac.uk (the address www.walesdtc.ac.uk will continue to work for the time being).

We have also updated the names of our social media channels: on Twitter we are now @WalesDTP and on Facebook you can find us at facebook.com/walesdtp. Our Youtube channel is at youtube.com/user/walesdtp.

Email continues to reach us as walesdtc@cardiff.ac.uk for the moment but we will be announcing a new email address shortly – watch this space!
