How do we recognise the plurilingual competence of secondary school students in Wales?

The purpose of my PhD is to explore how secondary school students’ plurilingual competence can be recognised and integrated across the secondary school curriculum in Wales. This research will work with students, school practitioners and language education stakeholders to think of potential avenues for recognising and integrating students’ plurilingual competence across the secondary school curriculum in Wales. This research will support the implementation strategy of the Area of Learning and Experience: Languages, Literacy and Communication cluster group leading on the teaching of Welsh, English and international languages in the new curriculum in Wales, which is due to be rolled out in 2022.
