An eye-tracking study of the confusability of look-alike names for drugs when TALLman lettering is used
The aim of this project is to help fill this gap in our understanding of the reading process where TALLman lettering is used, and to contribute to a practice that can lead to fewer LASA errors. Specific and initial objectives include:
a. To compare fixation points in drug names with and without TALLman lettering, in English L1 and L2 practitioners
b. To compare dwell times in drug names with and without TALLman lettering, in English L1 and L2 practitioners
c. To provide a model of the reading process, among both native and non-native English speakers, where TALLman lettering is used
d. To examine whether patterns of LASA confusion and error differ in L1 and L2 populations
