My research interests concern the cognitive and neural mechanisms of aesthetic evaluation of implied motion perception in visual art. By employing neuroimaging and behavioural methods, my project aims to

1. identify functionally distinct brain networks that interact during the appreciation of implied motion in artworks
2. evaluate the extent to which the aesthetic appreciation is the result of automatic or controlled processes and
3. examine the role of prior experience in shaping the aesthetic judgment.
