The Brecon Beacons National Park is feeling the impact of visitors every year. Visitors come to enjoy the park but the increasing numbers can have a significant impact on the environment. From littering, path erosion through to sheep worrying and disturbance of nesting birds, all these issues are an increasing problem for the National Park Authority.

Working in collaboration with the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority my research will aim to uncover the pathways to unsustainable behaviours and, through development of interventions (such as nudges), attempt to reduce the impact tourists have.

Secondly, my research will investigate the differences in behaviours across home and park contexts, attempting to create behavioural spillover between the home and park, so that interventions at home will spillover into behaviour in the park and vice versa.
