ESRC StudentshipMy research interests concern the cognitive and neural mechanisms of aesthetic evaluation of implied motion perception in visual art. By employing neuroimaging and behavioural methods, my project aims to
- identify functionally distinct brain networks that interact during the appreciation of implied motion in artworks
- evaluate the extent to which the aesthetic appreciation is the result of automatic or controlled processes and
- examine the role of prior experience in shaping the aesthetic judgment.
